Physiotherapy FAQs

What conditions do physiotherapists treat?

Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including acute sports injuries, muscle and ligament injuries, tendon problems, back and neck pain, joint pain, arthritis and running injuries. Physiotherapists are also particularly involved in post-operative rehabilitation, helping patients restore movement, strength and function following surgery. At Fitstuff Clinic, our physiotherapists Josefin, Theika and Chris work with patients of all activity levels, from everyday aches and pains through to complex injuries and sporting performance.

Treatment depends on your condition and may include hands-on therapy, mobility work, strength and conditioning, targeted exercises, movement retraining and advice. Where appropriate, treatments such as shockwave therapy may also be used alongside a rehabilitation programme.

Absolutely. Whether you’re returning to running, gym training, team sports or other activities, our physiotherapists can help you rebuild strength, improve movement and return to sport safely. Your rehabilitation will be progressed according to your recovery and individual goals.

Yes. You don’t need to be injured to benefit from physiotherapy. An assessment can identify areas of weakness, reduced mobility or movement patterns that may contribute to your risk of injury. We can help you improve strength, movement and resilience to meet the demands of your sport or everyday activities. Josefin also runs a small-group Strength Training for Runners class every Thursday evening at Fitstuff Clinic in Guildford, designed to help runners build strength, improve performance and reduce their risk of injury.

Not at all. Physiotherapy is for everyone, regardless of age or activity level. Whether you’re a runner, spend long hours at a desk or simply want to move more comfortably, we’ll tailor your treatment to your individual needs.

Yes. Physiotherapy is an important part of recovery following many orthopaedic procedures, including joint surgery. We can help restore movement, rebuild strength and gradually return you to your normal activities. Your rehabilitation will be tailored to your surgery, stage of recovery and individual goals.
